The Napalm Grenade is a secondary grenade in the Team Fortress series. When the timer goes off, the grenade explodes and sets the area around it on fire.
It is only used by the Pyro.
[edit] Tactics
In QWTF, the Napalm Grenade is very useful for denying an area to an enemy. Unlike the Napalm Grenade in other TF games, this Napalm Grenade's fires are physical objects that can stop a target in his tracks if he hits it. In addition, its flames inflict quickly inflict damage, bypass Armor and light a target on Fire. When placing a Napalm Grenade, make sure to put it in an area that a target cannot either jump or grapple-hook over, such as a tight hallway. Even then, some might find a way to bypass it, so don't be disappointed if you see enemies getting past the Napalm Grenade's flames.
In TFC and ETF, the Napalm Grenade is much less potent than the TFC one for a number of reasons. First off, the fires are not physical objects. This makes it so that enemies can easily run past the fires while taking very little damage. Second, the damage from the Napalm Grenade does not bypass armor, which greatly reduces its usefulness. The "fire" damage does not compensate for the loss of direct damage, as it takes off little damage per second. The Napalm Grenade can be used to deny an area to an enemy ala the QWTF Napalm Grenade, but most will simply run past it and take little damage.
