The Righteous Bison is a secondary weapon for the Soldier. It is a handheld retro-futuristic or steampunk styled ray gun. It shoots large team-colored projectiles that cannot be reflected. It fires every 0.8 seconds. It has a clip size of 4, and takes 0.92 seconds to reload the first ammo count, and signifigantly decreases with the next reload down to 0.4 seconds. Because of this, it is much more effective to fire the whole clip and then rapidly reload as otherwise you will only shoot about once a second. The projectiles can penetrate buildings and players, allowing it to deal massive damage on retreating players. However, destroying buildings is almost impossible as it deals 80% less damage to buildings, and will only deal 4 damage per shot to a building. However, it can penetrate it and potentially hit enemies or the Engineer who built it. It has a base damage of 16, and at point blank deals 20, and at medium range and long range 12. A critial hit will do 36-60 damage (depending on range) and a mini-crit 16-30 (also depending on range). It does not require ammo, so it can be fired without fear of running out of shots. Like the Cow Mangler 5000, it has a "Bison" bar on the HUD like the "Mangler" bar that the Cow Mangler 5000 has. They both turn red when full, and a sound will play when it is finished reloading. It can hit a target multiple times every 0.45 seconds providing a fairly constant damage stream. As the damage from medium range to long range is the same, other than aiming, the ranges should not be treated too differently. It is deceptively powerful on retreating enemies, as the ability to hit the same target every 0.45 seconds can be very useful. Enemies killed by it turn black, surrounded by team-colored particles while floating and disintegrate into ashes.
